This is a lovely 1920s flapper slip made of silk with lace trim.  This 1920s flapper slip is made of a lightweight sheer silk that I believe is called either “pongee” or “China silk”.  The silk is in an aqua green colour, kind of turquoise, and has white lace trim over the shoulder straps, along the top edge, on the front bodice and along the lower skirt.  It has some tucking/gathering at the hips and needlework in the form of squares on the bodice.  This 1920s flapper slip is made in a simple, loose fitting form.

Sizing: No size is indicated, but this should fit a medium to large size. Please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the style of the piece, which should fit loosely, into account:

Bust: 44” around, taken under the arms, meant to hang loosely

Waist: 44”

Hips:  50”

Overall length: 45, measured flat

Condition: This 1920s flapper slip is in very good condition with the exception of a couple of small light marks to the front right, really minor, and a more pronounced stain in the middle of the back (see photos of back and last close-up photo).  I haven’t tried to get it out due to the delicacy of the silk.  Otherwise, this piece looks to have seen little use and was well stored over the last 90+ years.

This is a pretty 1920s flapper slip, beautiful quality silk, ethereal, really lovely!
